EDWARDS ROAD PAVING THIS WEEK

We have just received word today that the re-paving of Edwards Road has begun. The first phase will be the milling of the road and will take about 3 days. There will be some brief lane closures during this process. Please keep your distance from the equipment because there is the possibility of flying debris. We apologize for this is short notice, but the pavers have had to adjust their schedules due to several scattered thunderstorms this summer.

Thank you for your patience during this repaving process.

Thanks, Pastor Aaron

FAMILY MINISTRY INFORMATION

Please be in prayer for the 7 children and 4 adults who are going to 2nd Grade Camp at Carson Springs in TN on Friday, July 29 – Saturday, July 30!

We are in need of Godly committed adults to serve in Family Ministries! Here are some of the positions that need to be filled:
Superstars (Sunday School on Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.):
* Female teacher and assistant for 3rd/4th grade girls or 2 female teachers and assistants to split this class into 2 classes
* Male teacher and assistant for 5th grade boys. Current teacher will meet with you to train you before start of the new year
* 1 or 2 female assistant teachers
* 1 male assistant teacher

AWANA (Sunday afternoons from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m.):
* 2 or 3 workers in Cubbies (3 and 4 year olds) - no teaching involved
* 6 workers in Sparks (K5 – 2nd grade)
* 8 workers in T & T (3rd – 5th grade)

Workers in Sparks and T & T would be responsible for a specific grade group. You would listen to them say their verses and/or help them with their workbooks. You would be asked to help be a team leader for the game time (not lead the games) and to help with crowd control during the teaching time (but not teach).
Please contact Pastor Travis at 244-2975 or by email.

Our nursery has been blessed with new arrivals, and we need more help in caring for them!:
* Babies Class: 1st hour (9:00 a.m.) - Two adults willing to serve once/month. This rotation week is without caregivers! We also need additional helpers to assist the workers on the other rotation weeks.

* Babies B Class: 2nd hour (10:30 a.m.) - One adult worker to serve once/month.

* Threes B Class: 2nd hour (10:30 a.m.) - Four adults to serve once/month. Our desire is to have two smaller three-year-old classes rather than one large one. We have two of four rotation weeks covered!

Contact Amy Sweeney by email or by phone at 244-2975, ext. 120 and 380-5785 (cell).

MORE KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY INFO

KAIROS Prison Ministry is an ecumenical Christian ministry designed for use in state and federal men's and women's correctional institutions in the United States and throughout the world.

The purpose of KAIROS is to establish a strong Christian community among the residents of correctional institutions. This is done by the presentation of a 3-day short course in Christianity. It is presented by an interdenominational team of about 55 persons for a group of 42 residents. The chaplain carefully selects the inmates from the prison population. The ideal recruits are those residents who are presently the leaders in the institution. There, they become Christ's agents for change in their environment that ultimately can bring about change in the attitude and quality of life for the entire institution.

The primary goal of the KAIROS ministry is to teach those who attend the weekend to become part of a share and prayer group. This allows them to share their lives on deep spiritual level and pray for one-another.

The South Carolina KAIROS website gives much more information, and Ed Chandler will be glad to talk to you further about how you can be involved. Please contact Ed at (864) 244-9153. You can also see a recent Post and Courier article on how KAIROS makes such a difference in men's lives!

ERBC SECURITY MEASURES

For the safety of our Weekday children and our Church Staff, our Receptionist will not be allowing anyone in the building that she does not recognize. She will speak to those outside the door by intercom before letting them into the building. We do not want to offend anyone, but we are implementing these measures to offset any possible dangerous scenarios. Thank you for your understanding!

INTERCESSORY PRAYER TEAM WEEKLY INSPIRATION

I will never forget Your precepts, for by them You have preserved my life.

Psalm 119:93

PRAY FOR HOW YOU CAN BE INVOLVED WITH THE DEVENGER HOUSE

It is ERBC's vision to provide a house - shelter - for families to transition into permanent housing. Several years ago God blessed ERBC with 60 acres on the corner of Devenger and Hudson Roads. Not only did He provide land for the future ministry expansion; He provided 3 existing houses on the same property. The Devenger House at 205 Devenger Road (near the ERBC soccer fields) has been under renovation for over a year. The goal is to allow local ministries (GAIHN) to use the Devenger House to transition families without a home into permanent housing. Thanks to many ERBC members who have donated their time, talent and treasure to prepare this house. Pray to see how God would use you!

MOM'S DAY OUT FOR BABIES - 2 YEAR OLDS, K3 - K5

Mom's Day Out for babies through 2 year olds and K-3 through K-5 is open to the public. Please call 292-0194 for more information, and you can also visit our website.

THE HEART GALLERY

The South Carolina Heart Gallery is a photo exhibit displayed in the main hallway that features adoptable children from the SC foster care system. Local photographers donate their time and services to photograph the waiting children. The Heart Gallery basically puts a face on the need by letting people see these children's faces in the photos.  The goal is to raise awareness of the need for adoptive families and to hopefully find homes for these kids by letting their personalities shine through the pictures.
