We are suspending our normal Wednesday prayer meetings in the summer and meeting in Community Groups. Here are the dates: June 29; July 13, 20, 27; and August 3.

Download the Community Groups list in PDF format here.

As we go through the Summer in our Groups, we aim for a deeper relationship with the Lord and with our Group participants. To complement the new Life in Community graphics in the main hallway, we would like to put pictures of your groups there for everyone to see.

Have someone in your group take a picture (or several), and email them to Barry Brown. We'll do our best to print them and put them up to see how the Lord is ministering in your Group as well as how He ministers through your Group!

The WMU (Women's Missionary Union)Missionary Focus Group will not meet in June or July.

Our Mission Project for June will be collecting duffel bags for DSS. When children are picked up in emergency situations, their belongings are often just carried in a plastic bag. A nice bag might make this a little easier. There will be a container in the main hallway through June. We appreciate the help of the church in this project!

The id Class event is an informal and relaxed time for prospective members to learn about the doctrine, stewardship and membership expectations of ERBC. The meeting will be held Sunday, July 10 at 5:00 p.m. at Pastor Aaron's home, located at 1001 Botany Road, Greenville, 29615. For reservations and more information, please contact Angela Yeargin at 864-244-2975, ext. 141 or by email.

Life Line Screening will be here at ERBC on Thursday, July 14 offering safe, painless, non-invasive preventive health screenings that are typically not a part of a routine physical. To be more proactive about your health and to live longer for yourself, your family and your community, please register for these potentially life-saving tests today. For only $139 (regularly $149) you can learn your risk of having stroke or vascular disease. There is no time like the present to take action! Learn more by watching this short video: http://www.lifelinescreeningblog.com/introduction/

Rebekah Cockrell will be teaching Bible Ballet Camp at the church again this summer, and Camp will be from 4:00-6:30 p.m. July 18-22 in Room FLC-110. Cost will be $50 per child and is open to ages 5-12. Dancers should come to camp wearing a leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, and with hair secured away from their faces (ballet bun preferred). This year's theme is Jonah. Like last year, we will hold a ballet demonstration and perform the Jonah ballet for family and friends on the last day of camp. For more information and to sign up, email or call 864-354-5628.

We continue this Operation Christmas Child challenge for everyone: put together one shoebox per family every month! Go ahead and buy items for a shoebox for each month, and fill one up each month. Put $7 cash in each box so you do not have to write a check or pay for all of your boxes by one check at collection time! We will collect at our Christmas in July collection time and in November at our regular collection time. Shoeboxes are available in the main hallway.

For the safety of our Weekday children and our Church Staff, our Receptionist will not be allowing anyone in the building that she does not recognize. She will speak to those outside the door by intercom before letting them into the building. We do not want to offend anyone, but we are implementing these measures to offset any possible dangerous scenarios. Thank you for your understanding!

In addition to interactions with friends and up to date information, did you know you can give online through The City? If you are not on The City, contact Pastor Eric at 244-2975, ext. 129 or by email.

Our Lake Keowee outing at the Olivers' lake house Monday, June 27 starts at 9:30 a.m. for those who have made prior reservations. The bus plans to return around 5:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided.

The second deposit of $50 for the Springmaid Beach Retreat south of Myrtle Beach October 3-7 (Monday-Friday) is due at the end of June, with the remainder due at the end of August. Contact Pat Billings in the church office at 864-244-2975, ext. 125 for additional information.

There will be no June monthly meeting - we will restart in July.

Bus transportation will be available for the monthly meetings. Please contact Pat Billings in the church office one day prior to arrange transportation. Lack of transportation should not prevent you from attending.

The curriculum is centered on the biblical foundations of marriage, and offers the opportunity for learning and fellowship with other couples in similar stages of life. Topics include the biblical roles of husbands, wives, and couples, as well as how to tackle issues like in-laws, finances, romance, and communication.

Make plans to be a part of this new class and invite other couples you know to join you. This new class is led by Tim and Tracy Sorrells and Ryan and Dana Swartzel Sundays at 9:00 a.m. sharp! KAIROS Prison Ministry is an ecumenical Christian ministry designed for use in state and federal men's and women's correctional institutions in the United States and throughout the world.

The purpose of KAIROS is to establish a strong Christian community among the residents of correctional institutions. This is done by the presentation of a 3-day short course in Christianity. It is presented by an interdenominational team of about 55 persons for a group of 42 residents. The chaplain carefully selects the inmates from the prison population. The ideal recruits are those residents who are presently the leaders in the institution. There, they become Christ's agents for change in their environment that ultimately can bring about change in the attitude and quality of life for the entire institution.

The primary goal of the KAIROS ministry is to teach those who attend the weekend to become part of a share and prayer group. This allows them to share their lives on deep spiritual level and pray for one-another.

The South Carolina KAIROS website gives much more information, and Ed Chandler will be glad to talk to you further about how you can be involved. Please contact Ed at (864) 244-9153. You can also see a recent Post and Courier article on how KAIROS makes such a difference in men's lives!

Be sure to Like the Women's Ministry on Facebook!

You can help other adults improve their reading, writing, math or computer skills, or you can teach English as a second language to people from all over the world. No prior teaching experience is required. For more information, please call 467-3456 or visit www.greenvilleliteracy.org.

In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

Romans 8:26

It is ERBC's vision to provide a house - shelter - for families to transition into permanent housing. Several years ago God blessed ERBC with 60 acres on the corner of Devenger and Hudson Roads. Not only did He provide land for the future ministry expansion; He provided 3 existing houses on the same property. The Devenger House at 205 Devenger Road (near the ERBC soccer fields) has been under renovation for over a year. The goal is to allow local ministries (GAIHN) to use the Devenger House to transition families without a home into permanent housing. Thanks to many ERBC members who have donated their time, talent and treasure to prepare this house. Pray to see how God would use you!

Mom's Day Out for babies through 2 year olds and K-3 through K-5 is open to the public. Please call 292-0194 for more information, and you can also visit our website.

The South Carolina Heart Gallery is a photo exhibit displayed in the main hallway that features adoptable children from the SC foster care system. Local photographers donate their time and services to photograph the waiting children. The Heart Gallery basically puts a face on the need by letting people see these children's faces in the photos.  The goal is to raise awareness of the need for adoptive families and to hopefully find homes for these kids by letting their personalities shine through the pictures.

You're not alone! At our Sarcoma Support Group you'll find:

  • Help in forming a network
  • Face-to-face connections with others who know what you're going through
  • Hope and encouragement for your emotional, mental and spiritual wellbeing while you fight for your physical wellness

The Sarcoma Support Group meets every fourth Monday in July, October and January at 7:00 p.m. in the Library. For more information you can contact Beth Lagrange by email or by phone at 864-254-0333, and you can access the Sarcoma Support Group webpage.

Miracle Hill Ministries is recruiting Christian foster parents to care for foster children of all ages on a full-time basis as well as respite basis. Any adult (single or married) who has a heart for working with needy children is welcome to apply. Miracle Hill works with DSS to place children from the Upstate in foster homes throughout the community. Background checks, training classes, paperwork and a home study are required. You may contact Brenda Mansel or Sharon Betts at 878-9987 to begin the licensing process or for additional information.
