Director of WEEKDAY Early Education Cindy Haithcock

I was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. I have one sister who lives in New Jersey and one brother who lives in Greenville. We moved from Pennsylvania to Greenville when I was 18 months old so my dad could attend Bob Jones University, where he studied to be a pastor, preacher and later an evangelist. Since that move,  I have always lived in Greenville except the 4 years I attended Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama.

I met my husband Jimmy at Samford and we were married one week after we graduated. We have lived in Greenville all of our married life - there is NO PLACE I would rather live! We have two adult children, Erin and Jay, who both met their spouses in Birmingham and they all live in that area! We cherish the time we get to spend with our four grandchildren ranging in age from 4-14.

I came to know Christ when I was seven years old. I remember weeping under the conviction of sin, in my bedroom, on my knees with my dad, as a young child and asking God to forgive me of my sins. It is as real to me today as it was 61 years ago. My family joined Edwards Road Baptist Church when it was a Mission Church in the early 1960’s. The strong desire to serve Christ and others has always been evident to me in the lives of our church family—that’s what I love the most about Edwards Road. This is my 22nd year as the Weekday Director at Edwards Road. It is a privilege to work with a gifted staff that love Jesus and know how to share that love with boys and girls, with their families, and with each other.
